Good day to you all, and welcome to today's review of the most powerful power supply I have ever seen: the GodTech 2.42GW 80 Plus Unobtanium model. This unit is twice as powerful as the 1.21GW "Doc Brown Special" unit we've all come to know and love, able to support not one but two simultaneous DeLorean power-ups, and I must admit it's going to be quite a challenge for the load testers. As you can see above, I've already got things up and running, though, so we'll have to do our best. Just look at it... it's positively oozing with power.
Let's be honest, though. This one's going to be especially tricky, what with my load testers only topping out around 1700 watts or so, and...

Oh, that looks a little more likely. Folks, we have already seen what the new Corsair HXi platform can do at 750 watts. It's time to see how well the platform scales to higher power levels, as we look at the 1kW model.
There's really nothing about the marketing of this unit that differs greatly from the 750W unit, so we'll just gloss through our box shots today. Corsair Link, seven year warranty, 80 Plus Platinum... we already know all this stuff. Yes, I will be using Corsair Link again in the load testing section, just to get a better idea of how accurate it is with this platform.
A power supply with cables and connectors. Interesting idea. I like the way you think, Corsair. Looks like we get a fan self test switch again, too.
Hand selected components. FDB fan. Corsair Link. All things common to both this unit and the 750W model.
Now that the box is mostly out of the way, we'll unpack and see what came inside it.
There's a power supply, a power supply bag, a bag of modular cables, a user guide, a wee bag of goodies, a power cord, a warranty guide, and a safety guide.
There were also a bunch of air molecules, but I dropped them and have no idea where they've gotten to. That said, you can rest assured that each one of Corsair's power supplies does come with a small amount of free air.
The user guide is the exact same one that came with the 750W model, so I'm re-using the scanned image from that review to save some time. I'm pleased with it.
The goodies included with this unit amount to a bunch of zip ties, some screws, and a classy looking case sticker.
